TAITRA shines its spotlights on Taiwan's Big 4

For many years, Taiwan has produced a substantial number of IT and high tech products that rank either first or second globally, holding a big percentage of the world market share. Some of the more renowned brands from Taiwan include Acer, BenQ, Asus, Trend Micro, and Giant, among others. In June this year, 18 ITC brands from Taiwan have been featured in the INFOTECH 100 of BusinessWeek, which reveal that Taiwan brands are becoming more recognized and renowned in the global markets today.

To cultivate other enterprises and promote more brands from the island, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has been undertaking the government's Branding Taiwan Plan since 2003 to develop an island-wide awareness and support network to help promising small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Taiwan embark on the path to developing their own brands. TAITRA has been cooperating with an internationally-renowned brand appraisal consultancy, INTERBRAND, in some of its branding events held each year.

In addition to the country's IT and high tech industries, Taiwan's high performance, functional textile is another industry which Taiwan has been known for especially in the US, Europe, and Asia. This year, TAITRA has therefore chosen the European Outdoor Show in Friedrichshafen to help promote the brands of 4 most dynamic functional textile makers from Taiwan, namely Everest Textile, Formosa Taffeta, Hyperbola Textile, and Singtex Industrial.

Known as ˇ§Taiwan's Big 4ˇ¨ or the ˇ§4 textile dragons of Taiwan,ˇ¨ although each one is unique in its own ways, they are strong in R&D and possess the passion to provide worldwide consumers with a better image, a better performance, a better life, and a better world. Their expertise and flexibility also enable them to build strong connections with their customers as well as with world famous brands.

In order to allow visitors and buyers at the show to learn more about these four enterprises, a brand launch will be held on July 18, Friday, from 17:00 to 18:30 at the Conference Center, Room Liechtenstein.

The Taiwan Happy Hour, featuring a live band with cocktails, will follow from 18:30 to 19:30 at Hall A4, Booth Nos. 309, 310, 410 and 416, to provide a light and relaxing ambiance to the event.

Taiwan's over 60 years of textile manufacturing experience enables it to develop a cluster in which an increasing number of textile makers are turning to the development of functional textiles to keep up with the global trend as well as meet the growing demand of consumers for functional textile products. TAITRA will therefore continue to strive not only to enhance the image of Taiwan's functional textile industry, but to cultivate and promote more brands from Taiwan.
