- MODU82+ is a high-efficiency modular PSU series and the world’s first desktop PSU series certified as 80 PLUS Bronze. Besides its outstanding efficiency, it has 3 innovations. “SpeedGuard”, a patented new type of fan control, which allows to set the rpm to very low levels by powering both the Hall IC and bearing of the fan within the PSU with dedicated voltages. It enables the fan to run at much lower rpms than any other technology, because these use a single voltage for both IC and bearing, which limits the minimum voltage to the ICs requirments, while the bearing could run with less. The result is a min rpm of 450 for MODU82+ against 800+ for others. This has easily made MODU82+ the world’s most silent actively cooled PSU series. “AirGuard” is another world’s first and patented. The housing around the fan guard is bent to the inside, closing the gap in between housing and fan and directs the air directly into the fan. With a plain surface housing, some air would get in between them and cause noisy turbulences. MODU82+ features 12 pin sockets for CPU & GPU connectors, which allow for easy cable upgrades to likely new connectors for PCI Express 3.0 and/or OCTA Core CPUs in near future. With these 12p sockets, endusers do not need to buy a new PSU for new connectors, which would have more pins (10 or 12) instead of current 8 for CPU & GPU.
